Toronto Man Charged With Impaired Driving After Early Morning Crash in Grey Highlands
A 50-year-old Toronto man is facing impaired driving charges after being found in a vehicle stuck in a ditch near Osprey-The Blue Mountains Townline on Dec. 26.
A Toronto man is facing impaired driving charges following a single-vehicle collision early Friday morning in Grey Highlands.
At approximately 5:39 a.m. on December 26, Grey Bruce OPP were alerted by a passerby to a vehicle found stuck in a ditch along Grey Road 2, near Osprey-The Blue Mountains Townline. When officers arrived on the scene, they found the driver seated behind the wheel.
Police say the driver showed signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene. As a result, Christopher McGoey, 50, of Toronto, has been charged with operation while impaired – alcohol, and operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
In accordance with provincial law, McGoey’s driver’s licence was immediately suspended for 90 days, and the vehicle was impounded for seven days.
He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on January 22, 2026.
The OPP is reminding the public that impaired driving remains a leading cause of injury and death on Ontario roads, and urges residents to report suspected impaired drivers by calling 911 in emergencies, or 1-888-310-1122 for non-urgent concerns.
