OPP Seek Witnesses After Van Strikes Ambulance and Flees Scene Near Dundalk
Grey Bruce OPP are investigating a Christmas Day fail-to-remain collision involving a van and an ambulance north of Dundalk. Police are asking witnesses to come forward.
Provincial police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a driver involved in a Christmas Day fail-to-remain collision north of Dundalk, where a van struck a stopped Grey County ambulance and fled the scene.
According to Grey Bruce OPP, the incident occurred around 11:30 a.m. on December 25, on Highway 10 in the Township of Southgate.
The ambulance, with its emergency lights activated, was stopped while responding to a call when it was sideswiped by a northbound van.
The vehicle struck the driver-side front corner of the ambulance before continuing north without stopping. No injuries were reported, and damage to the ambulance was described as minimal.
Police say the suspect vehicle is believed to be a dark-coloured, dirty van, and investigators believe multiple witnesses may have seen the collision, given the time of day and activity on the highway.
The OPP are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident—or who has dash cam footage from the area around the time of the collision—to come forward. Witnesses are asked to contact Grey Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122, referencing occurrence number E251724147.
