Three Taken to Hospital After Crash at 8th and 4th Avenue East, Driver Charged
Two adults and an infant were taken to Brightshores with minor injuries after a Thursday afternoon crash. One driver was charged with failing to yield.
Three people were taken to hospital with minor injuries after a two-vehicle collision at 8th Street East and 4th Avenue East on about 3:00 p.m. on Thursday afternoon.
Inspector Craig Matheson of the Owen Sound Police Service said a Honda travelling west on 8th Street East was struck by an Infiniti that had stopped at the stop sign facing north on 4th Avenue East before entering the intersection.
An off-duty Owen Sound police officer witnessed the collision and called for police and ambulance, Matheson said.
Two adults and an infant, all occupants of the Honda, were taken to Brightshores Health System in Owen Sound. Matheson described their injuries as very minor.
The driver of the Infiniti was charged with failing to yield to traffic on a through highway. The charge has not been tested in court.
The Infiniti is likely a write-off, Matheson said, and the Honda sustained substantial damage.
