Letter Illustrates Impact of Tuition & OSAP Changes
Students across Ontario are raising concerns about recent changes to the Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP), with walkouts planned Wednesday at campuses and high schools across the province — including here in Owen Sound.
They’re not the only ones asking questions.
In this new letter to the editor, Owen Sound resident David McLeish examines provincial funding data, tuition trends, and OSAP policy changes to illustrate why many fear the changes could leave students with significantly more debt.
Letter: Post Secondary Education and The Spin Doctors
According to the last census, 48% of Owen Sounders 15 years and older had some form of post-secondary certificate, diploma, or degree. We can reasonably assume that many graduating high school in our community will go on to college or university.
Poll Results: Most Do Not Support Grey County Road Transfer in Current Form
On Friday, we asked whether you support Grey County’s plan to download 8th St E/Grey Road 5 to the City of Owen Sound. As of 8:00 p.m. on March 8, you had responded as follows:
58% said No
28% said Yes, with more funding
9% Yes, as is
