Yesterday, we shared the results from Friday’s poll on who you’re voting for locally. Today, we’re curious to see who BGOS constituents want to see at the helm provincially, as Premier of Ontario for the next term:
I’ve seen and received a few questions about Voter Information Cards. Here’s what you need to know, from Elections Ontario:
If you are on the Register, you will receive a voter information card in the mail from February 17 to 22. Bring your voter information card and one piece of accepted ID showing your name when you go to vote.
If you do not receive a voter information card, you can still vote, but your name may not be on the voters list. Bring one piece of accepted ID showing your name and current home address.
You can update or add your information to the voters list when you go to vote at the local election office, advance voting location or on election day.
Elections Ontario has also released location information for the advance polls and election day. See our guide for details (and please share, if you’re so inclined!):
Now, taking a quick break from the provincial election—there are a couple of City of Owen Sound committee meetings happening this week. Clark Finlay will make an appeal to the City to consider making 2nd Ave E pedestrian-only, and has shared a sneak peek at that in this letter:
Letter: Make Second Avenue East a Pedestrian-Only Place Where People Want To Be
LETTER TO THE EDITOR: Owen Sound is a fantastic place to live, work, and raise a family, but until our main street is thriving, locals and visitors alike will continue to view the city negatively. We should make 2nd Avenue East a street for people, not a road for cars.
