Assaults, Bail Violations, and Impaired Driving: Saugeen Shores Police Updates
Saugeen Shores Police report six arrests between February 1 and 6, including charges for sexual assault, impaired driving, and attempted disarming of an officer.
The Saugeen Shores Police Service has released a summary of incidents and arrests from February 1 through February 6, 2026. Reports include charges related to sexual assault, domestic violence, impaired driving, and bail violations.
Workplace Assault Leads to Charges
Police received a report of an assault that occurred the night prior between co-workers. Following an investigation, a 22-year-old male was charged with sexual assault and sexual assault causing bodily harm.
He was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody. Victim Services was engaged, and appropriate resources were provided to the survivor.
Bail Violation in Port Elgin
Saugeen Shores Police responded to a report of a domestic-related bail violation in the Town of Port Elgin. A 37-year-old male was arrested and charged with failure to comply with a release order. He was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
Assault with Weapon in Port Elgin
Officers were called to the scene of an assault in Port Elgin, where they found a male bleeding heavily from injuries sustained by an edged weapon.
A 28-year-old female was arrested and charged with domestic assault and assault with a weapon. She was held for a bail hearing and later released on a release order.
Attempted Disarming of Officer in Southampton
Police responded to a disturbance in Southampton and determined that a domestic assault had taken place. While attempting to arrest the male suspect, he became violent and attempted to disarm one of the officers by grabbing their firearm. He also kicked and spit at officers while being escorted to the police vehicle.
A 39-year-old male was arrested and charged with the following offences:

Assault peace officer
Disarming peace officer
Failure to comply with probation
Mischief
Resist peace officer
Uttering threats to cause death
He was held for a bail hearing and remanded into custody.
Impaired Driving Arrest
Saugeen Shores Police responded to a report of a vehicle that had driven off the road. Officers arrested the driver at the scene. A 22-year-old male from Brantford was charged with operation while impaired, dangerous operation, and assault peace officer. He was released on an appearance notice.
Arrest on Outstanding Warrant
A 47-year-old female was arrested on the strength of an outstanding warrant issued by the Ontario Provincial Police. She was released on an appearance notice with a future court date.
