Uncooperative Customer in Port Elgin Drive-Thru Arrested for Impaired Driving
A 60-year-old Chesley woman faces impaired driving and obstruction charges after Saugeen Shores police responded to a report of an uncooperative customer in a Port Elgin drive-thru.
A late-night call about an uncooperative customer at a Port Elgin restaurant drive-thru led to impaired driving and obstruction charges against a Chesley woman, Saugeen Shores police say.
On August 18, 2025, at approximately 9:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to the drive-thru after staff reported a problem with a customer. Police arrived six minutes later and found the vehicle still in line.
Officers attempted to speak with the driver, but she refused to identify herself or exit the vehicle. Police advised her she was under arrest for obstructing police. When she continued to refuse, officers removed her from the driver’s seat.
While dealing with the driver, officers observed signs of impairment. Other officers also reported finding open containers of alcohol in the vehicle. The woman was then arrested for impaired driving.
A 60-year-old woman from Chesley has been charged with:
Operation while impaired (80 plus)

Resist arrest
Her driver’s licence has been suspended, and her vehicle was impounded.
