Wiarton Gains a Family Doctor as Dr. Nasrin Alavi Joins Local Practice
Dr. Nasrin Alavi will open a Wiarton practice in September. Unattached patients in South Bruce Peninsula can register through Health Care Connect to be considered.

A new family doctor will open a practice in Wiarton this fall and take on a limited number of patients who don’t currently have local primary care.
Dr. Nasrin Alavi is joining the South Bruce Peninsula Family Health Organization and will practise alongside Drs. Barrett and Diodati, opening her Wiarton office in September. She will also work in the emergency department and inpatient unit at the Wiarton hospital, part of Brightshores Health System.
Alavi will accept a limited number of patients who live in the Town of South Bruce Peninsula or the surrounding area and do not have a local primary care provider. The announcement does not specify how many patients she will take on.
Residents without a family doctor who want to be considered must first register with Health Care Connect, the province’s service that matches unattached patients to providers, online at ontario.ca/healthcareconnect or by calling 811. Alavi’s office will contact registered individuals and families to arrange meet-and-greet appointments.
The arrival was announced July 7 in a release from the South Bruce Peninsula Family Health Organization and Sauble & Wiarton MD Quest, a local doctor-recruitment group.
