Dearest Gentle Readers,*
Let’s talk about ‘Future Owen Sound: Vision 2050.’
The City of Owen Sound has engaged a consultant for up to $80,000 to help us collectively develop our vision of what this town could be 26 years from now.
Part of this consultation is the community survey happening now until July 12.
First things first…
*I fell into the Bridgerton wormhole recently and had to try that on for size just once. Promise to never do it again🤞🏼, and high-five if you got the reference. Now, back to our very own Ton.
As always, full subscribers can take part in the conversation in the comments below. We also accept letters to the editor, which is one of the ways The Owen Sound Current amplifies community voices and facilitates conversation.
Please note that to protect the integrity of our publication and this community, we do not publish anonymous feedback. The issues facing us all are difficult, and the stakes are high. Mutual respect and accountability are essential. We stand behind our words and expect participants in conversations on our platform to do the same.
Also note that letters to the editor are not reflective of our personal opinions or position as a publication. While we take steps to avoid issues such as libel and conflict of interest, letters to the editor are not subject to the same editorial review as news articles. They are the opinions, thoughts, experiences, and ideas of others in your community.
Letters to the editor are conversation starters, and those invested in keeping The Owen Sound Current community sustainable as full subscribers have the greatest opportunities to participate in those conversations by commenting directly on them (as with all types of content on our site).
Speaking of, we have another reader response to Anne Dondertman’s letter, How Can We Reverse Owen Sound's Decline?
We’re happy to provide a space for productive community exchanges. Keep it coming!
~ Miranda
