Another City of Owen Sound budget cycle has wrapped, and this one came with a few firsts.
It was the first budget under Ontario’s Strong Mayor powers, and for the first time in recent memory, there was no public budget meeting. Council was permitted to propose amendments, but none were adopted, and the Mayor’s budget passed as tabled.
This week, we took a closer look at the 2026 police budget, the proposed increase that was voted down, and the final numbers. Below, you’ll find our full breakdown of how your tax dollars will be spent across the budget as a whole.
