Passenger, 61, Dies in Two-Vehicle Collision Near Walkerton
South Bruce OPP are investigating after a 61-year-old passenger died and two drivers were hospitalized in a collision in Brockton on July 13.
A 61-year-old Walkerton resident died in a collision at a rural intersection near Walkerton on July 13, and South Bruce OPP are investigating.
Officers, along with Grey County and Bruce County paramedics and the Brockton Fire Department, responded to the intersection of Sideroad 10 South and Concession 4 East Brant at about 3:31 p.m., according to two news releases from the detachment.
A passenger vehicle and a commercial motor vehicle collided. A 61-year-old passenger from Walkerton was pronounced dead at the scene, OPP said. Both drivers were taken to hospital with injuries.
Police reopened Sideroad 10 South and Concession 4 East Brant on the afternoon of July 14, after closing both routes at the intersection following the collision. The OPP Traffic Incident Management Enforcement team is assisting the investigation.
OPP said the cause remains under investigation. The releases do not identify which vehicle the passenger was in, do not name the deceased or the drivers, do not describe the extent of the drivers’ injuries, and do not say whether any charges are anticipated.
