Joint Drug Investigation Leads to Charges Against Three Neyaashiinigmiing Residents
Three people are facing drug and weapons charges following a joint investigation by Grey Bruce OPP and the Neyaashiinigmiing Police Service.
Three Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation residents are facing charges following a joint drug trafficking investigation by the Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police Community Street Crime Unit and the Neyaashiinigmiing Police Service.
Police say the investigation began in December 2025.
According to the OPP, officers conducted a traffic stop on Rouse Road in South Bruce Peninsula at approximately 12 p.m. on April 30, 2026. Members of the Grey Bruce CSCU, Neyaashiinigmiing Police Service, and the OPP Canine Unit arrested three individuals during the stop.
Police executed a search warrant on the vehicle and seized a small quantity of suspected cocaine with an estimated street value of approximately $1,000, along with about $1,500 in Canadian currency.
Investigators later executed a second search warrant at a residence on Chick’s Road in Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation.
As a result of the investigation, Derrick Pedoniquott, 33, of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation, and Beverley Nadjiwon, 33, of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation, were each charged with possession of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.
Michael Keeshig, 36, of Neyaashiinigmiing First Nation, was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon and possession of a prohibited weapon contrary to a probation order under the Criminal Code.
All three accused were released from custody and are scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on June 11, 2026.
