Happy Friday, Readers.
We have a lengthy reading list for you today under Local News… what can I say, there’s a lot going on across Grey and Bruce. You may want to save a few pieces to peruse with a hot beverage over the upcoming cool, damp weekend.
Earlier this week, we took your temperature on the municipal election and asked how closely you were each following along so far:
Close to half (47%) are at least aware it’s happening, while 33% say they’re already watching closely. It’s still early days, and 17% aren’t concerned about it yet, saying they’ll tune in closer to.
New candidate names are trickling in across the region. Nominations will remain open until August 21 at 4:30 p.m., and by September 1 we should have finalized lists of candidates for each municipality.
Learn more and watch for updates in our Bruce-Grey and Owen Sound Votes: 2026 Municipal Election Guide.
