Four-Year-Old Struck by Vehicle on 14th Street West, Taken to Hospital
A four-year-old child was struck by a vehicle near 14th Street West and Alpha Street on May 19. Injuries are unknown but not believed to be life-threatening.

A four-year-old child was struck by a motor vehicle near 14th Street West and Alpha Street on the afternoon of May 19 and taken to hospital, the Owen Sound Police Service said in a release.
Police received the call at approximately 3:25 p.m. and officers arrived on scene within two minutes, attending to the child until paramedics arrived, according to the release.
The extent of the child’s injuries was not disclosed. Police said the injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.
Officers trained in traffic reconstruction and forensic identification documented the scene and the vehicle while the area was closed to traffic. All roadways have since reopened.
The investigation into the circumstances of the collision is ongoing. Police have not released information about the driver, the vehicle, or what led to the collision.
In the release, police reminded drivers to be vigilant as warmer weather brings more pedestrians out, particularly around school start and end times.
