South Bruce OPP and the Grey Bruce Community Safety and Well‑Being Plan hosted a Human Trafficking session recently and invite community members to a Community Town Hall on March 11.
SUBMITTED
On March 4, 2026, the South Bruce Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), in partnership with the Grey Bruce Community Safety and Well‑Being Plan, hosted a Human Trafficking Community Town Hall at the Davidson Centre in Kincardine.
Detective Constable Melissa Barfoot of the South Bruce OPP has been delivering Human Trafficking Awareness presentations to residents across Grey‑Bruce for more than 15 years.
Her dedication to this important work is evident through the depth of knowledge and insight she shares with the community.

The presentation focused on educating the public about recognizing the signs of human trafficking, increasing awareness, and supporting victims. Human trafficking is often hidden in plain sight, and community education plays a critical role in prevention efforts and victim safety.
The OPP would like to thank Bridging Gaps AHT, Rising Angels, and all community partners who attended and helped make this event a success.
Members of the public are encouraged to attend the next Community Town Hall event:
