South Bruce OPP Updates: Impaired Charges Following Traffic Stops and Collision
South Bruce OPP charged three drivers with impaired driving between Dec. 5–8, including after a collision in Brockton and traffic stops in Kincardine.

Here are the latest updates from the South Bruce detachment of the OPP, serving Arran-Elderslie, Brockton, Huron-Kinloss, Kincardine, and South Bruce.
Early-Morning Traffic Stop Results in Impaired Driving Charge Near Kincardine
A Huron-Kinloss resident is facing an impaired driving charge after an early-morning traffic stop just east of Kincardine.
On December 8, 2025, at approximately 5:40 a.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol along Highway 9 came upon a vehicle that had left the roadway. After speaking with the driver, the officer detected signs of alcohol consumption.
A roadside screening device was administered, returning a “fail” result. The driver was subsequently arrested and transported for further testing.
Daniel Rhody, 45, of Huron-Kinloss has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (B.A.C.) over 80, under section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
Rhody is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on January 21, 2026. Police have not released additional information about the circumstances of the incident, including whether the vehicle sustained damage or if any injuries were reported.
Missing Rear Lights Lead to Impaired Driving Charge in Kincardine
An evening traffic stop for a vehicle with no rear lights has resulted in impaired driving charges for a Kincardine resident.
On December 6, 2025, at approximately 10:20 p.m., a South Bruce OPP officer was conducting general patrol along Highway 21 in Kincardine when they observed a northbound vehicle with no functioning rear lights.
The vehicle was stopped, and police say the officer detected signs of alcohol consumption from the driver. A roadside screening device was administered and resulted in a “fail.” The driver was arrested and taken for further testing.
Eugene Corpuz, 32, of Kincardine, is charged with operation while impaired – B.A.C. over 80, contrary to section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
Corpuz is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Walkerton on January 21, 2026. Police did not release the make or model of the vehicle, or whether there were any passengers at the time of the stop.
Driver Charged Following Collision and Arrest in Brockton
A Chesley resident has been charged with impaired driving following a single-vehicle collision in the Municipality of Brockton.
South Bruce OPP responded to a report of a collision on Concession 22 at approximately 5:45 p.m. on December 5, 2025. When officers arrived at the scene, they found a pickup truck in the ditch. The driver had not remained at the scene but was located nearby shortly afterward.
Police say the investigating officer observed signs of impairment during their interaction with the driver, who was then taken into custody and transported for further testing.
Shawn Woodward, 28, of Chesley, has been charged with operation while impaired – B.A.C. over 80, under section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code.
Woodward is scheduled to appear in Walkerton court on January 21, 2026. No injuries were reported at the time of the incident, and police have not released details about vehicle damage or contributing factors to the collision.
