What’s happening at the Library in Owen Sound? There are many fun and interesting programs and activities in the works, some free to the public and some requiring registration or a small fee.

Adult Programs & Services
Stitch It Together
Thursday, November 28 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Do you knit, crochet, spin, cross-stitch, embroider, rug hook, needle felt, hand sew or mend? Bring your own stitch project for a relaxing afternoon of chatting and making. Get inspired, meet other crafty folk, and stitch your stress away. Drop-in.titles for you.
Let’s Get Published
Thursday, November 21 at 6:30 pm
This is a new monthly Writer's Group for participants with completed writing that they wanted to work on getting published. The sessions focus on the different ways that books are made available now. Published authors and unpublished writers can attend. Registration required.
Writing Prompts
Monday, November 25 at 6:30 pm
Attend a meeting with writing prompts supportive of your writing goals. Everyone will free write using the prompt and those interested can share samples from their writing. Participants can edit and add to the work and briefly share at the next meeting. Registration required.
Online Resources
Monday, November 18 at 7:00 pm
Did you know that you have 24-7 access to hundreds of thousands of online materials and resources online that are provided by the library? Attend a short presentation about accessing the many digital resources available free with your Library card. Registration required.

OSNGUPL Ukes
Monday, November 25 from 4:30 pm - 5:30 pm
Join Sharon, Cvitka, and their Ukes while singing and strumming some fun tunes. No Ukulele? No worries, just borrow a Ukulele Kit with your library card. All skill levels. Non-instructional. BYO Ukulele. Music provided. Registration required.

Outlive: The Science and Art of Longevity by Bill Gifford and Peter Attia is considered one of the best health books of 2023. It’s a great book in terms of learning about how to both improve your life span and quality of life. Registration required.

Get ready for an evening of hilarity! Register as a team of 4-5 people to compete in a series of ridiculous tasks and a chance to win the golden head! Fee for is $50/team. Registration deadline

Dungeons & Dragons – After-School Club

Ages 12-18 Join a recurring after-school D&D adventure! Make your own character and start a quest with other players – both beginners and experienced players are welcome. Take part in an exciting and expansive fantasy story that will grow with you as you level up. Snacks provided. Registration required.

Join us for stories, songs, and rhymes! Meet other parents and build your baby’s pre-literacy skills! Babytime is at the Tom Thomson Art Gallery on the last Thursday of the month. Birth to 18 months. Drop-in.
LEGO® Club

Grades K-6

Let’s get hands on with equipment from the Library’s Tech Toy and Creation Station collections. Each session will highlight a different technology that kids can either borrow or use at the Library. Registration required.
Dungeons & Dragons: Family Adventure
Saturday, November 16 & Saturday, November 30 from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
Join a family-friendly adventuring party! Youth (aged 6-12) can sign up with their older sibling or adult guardian for this Dungeons & Dragons adventure. Bring your own Level 1 character or use a pre-made one. Good for beginners and experienced players. Snacks provided. Registration required.
