Adult Programs & Services
Invitation for Community Art Exhibits
The Library offers an opportunity for local visual artists to display their work. Artists or groups interested in displaying their work must complete the application form and read and agree to the library policy. Art will be displayed on a Gridwall triangle mobile tower (2 x 2 x 6 1⁄2') for a 2-month period.
Fire Safety with Greg Nicol
Wednesday, September 18 from 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Drop by and speak to Greg Nicol, Fire Prevention Officer, Owen Sound Fire and Emergency Services, about any concerns you have regarding fire safety in your home. Greg will have the fire safety house and is looking forward to meeting with the public to answer any questions. Drop-in
Library Book Sale *3rd Thursday
Thursday, September 19 from 2:00 pm - 7:30 pm
Nearly new, used, paperbacks, fiction,non-fiction, young adult, children’s books, CDs and DVDs available! Cash, debit and credit cards accepted. Please help out by bringing your own shopping bag or buy a library bag!
Stitch It Together

Do you knit, crochet, spin, cross-stitch, embroider, rug hook, needle felt, hand sew or mend? Bring your own stitch project for a relaxing afternoon of chatting and making. Get inspired, meet other crafty folk, and stitch your stress away. Drop-in.
An Evening with Poet Dan Lockhart
Thursday, September 12 from 7:00 pm
Join us for an evening of poetry and discussion with Dan Lockhart, author of North of Middle Island. Lockhart is a graduate of the Indiana University with an MFA in creative writing and a member of the pùkuwànkoamimëns of the Moravian of the Thames First Nation. His latest book explores in verse the culture and territory of Pelee Island and its environments. Drop-in.
Thursday Afternoon Writing Group - Let’s Critique
Thursdays, September 12, October 10 & November 14 from 3:00 pm
This is a new supportive Writer's Group where participants submit
3-5 pages of work at one meeting. Everyone will take the material home and review it for the next meeting. You will be able to seek the type of feedback that you want on your writing. Registration required.

Did you know that you have 24-7 access to hundreds of thousands of online materials and resources online that are provided by the library? Attend a short presentation about accessing the many digital resources available free with your Library card. Registration required.
Eclipse & Aurora Spectacular!
Tuesday, September 17 from 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm
Stargazer John presents the two epic celestial events of 2024. Fantastic images of April’s total solar eclipse photographed in the Midwest. Panoramic video footage of the brilliant auroral display in May. Registration recommended.

Repair Café

Skilled volunteers are eager to fix your broken items for free, from clothing to household items. Enjoy refreshments, connect with your community, and save money while keeping items out of landfills.
