Will it be a Trick or a Treat? Halloween Blind Date with a Book

This Halloween, prepare to be surprised! Fill out the “Blind Date with a Book” form on our website as of October 26th and staff will select some surprise titles for you.
Stitch It Together
Thursday, November 14 & 28 from 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm
Do you knit, crochet, spin, cross-stitch, embroider, rug hook, needle felt, hand sew or mend? Bring your own stitch project for a relaxing afternoon of chatting and making. Get inspired, meet other crafty folk, and stitch your stress away. Drop-in.
Taylor Swift Program [Library Version]
Wednesday, November 6 from 6:30 pm - 8:00 pm
Join us for a Taylor Swift inspired program. Enjoy era themed book recommendations, Taylor inspired Bingo, photo area and more! All ages. Registration required.
Grokfest 2024
Wednesday, November 13 at 7:00 pm
Join us for our 3rd Grokfest which features short presentations on topics using 20 slides. The presenter shares a passion or interest while speaking to each slide for only 20 seconds. Come out and enjoy the fun, entertaining and informative session. Afterwards why not head into the community and grab a coffee or beer with others and chat about the presentations.
Repair Café
Saturdays, November 9 from 1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Skilled volunteers are eager to fix your broken items for free, from clothing to household items. Enjoy refreshments, connect with your community, and save money while keeping items out of landfills. Have skills to share? Whether it's sewing, electronics, small furniture and appliances or bike repairs, your expertise is welcomed. To get involved, email: GBOSRepairCafe@gmail.com. This volunteer youth board works to develop library programming for youth and build our young adult collection. Develop your leadership skills and make a difference in your community.
Dungeons & Dragons – After-School Club
Wednesday, November 6, November 20 & November 27 from 5:30 pm - 7:30pm. Join a recurring after-school D&D adventure! Make your own character and start a quest with other players – both beginners and experienced players are welcome. Take part in an exciting and expansive fantasy story that will grow with you as you level up. Snacks provided. Registration required. Ages 12-18
Get Crafty – Needle Felt and Cross Stitch
Tuesday, November 12 from 6:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Ages 12-18
Get crafty with lots of supplies! Try different needle-based crafts, like needle felting, cross-stitch, and embroidery. Maybe you love these materials already or maybe you want to try something new – all levels of experience welcome. Registration required.

Valentines for Veterans
Supplies available in Youth Services from November 1 to 11
This Remembrance Day season, thank Canadian Veterans by making them a hand-made valentine. Return your card to Youth Services staff and we’ll send it to Veterans Affairs Canada, who will mail out the cards for Valentine’s Day 2025.
Preschool Storytime
Tuesdays, 10:30 am
Join us for stories, songs, early literacy, and movement! Bring your singing voice as we work together to acquire early literacy skills. Drop-in.
Babytime
Thursdays, 10:30 am
Join us for stories, songs, and rhymes! Meet other parents and build your baby’s pre-literacy skills! Babytime is at the Tom Thomson Art Gallery on the last Thursday of the month. Birth to 18 months. Drop-in.
