Rick Metcalfe is a member of Seniors for Social Action Ontario and a local seniors' advocate. He lives in a seniors’ condo, and he has serious questions and concerns about corporate control and privatization in the senior care market.
“Grey County has resorted to building an institution where no one wants to end up and few want to work.
Institutions have closed for every other group with disabilities, including people with developmental disabilities, who receive community services through community living associations.
The only people still institutionalized like this in Ontario are old people and prisoners.”
