When we launched the Owen Sound Current in the fall of 2023, every edition carried the next few days of events as a short list you could scan over your morning coffee.

A lot has changed since then. We now cover all of Grey Bruce, and full subscribers get the day’s weather and obituaries alongside the news.

Then summer arrived. Between the markets, concerts, hikes, ribfests and fundraisers happening from Owen Sound to Tobermory, the list has grown so long we can’t run all of it without the email cutting off partway. It’s the best kind of problem to have.

So we’re doing it differently. Each day, you’ll find two or three of our picks for each of the next few days right here in the daily. The full listing — every event we know about, all the way to the end of the year — lives on the website, ready whenever you’re making plans.

• Public Advisory issued at 11:18 p.m. on Tues July 14: “Grey Bruce OPP is advising the public of a heavy police presence in the area of Highway 6 and Concession Road 17 in Georgian Bluffs, south of Wiarton. Officers are conducting an active police investigation. Please avoid the area and follow any instructions provided by officers at the scene.
