Vehicle Found in Fatal Owen Sound Hit-and-Run, Police Seek More Evidence
A white Honda Civic linked to Saturday’s deadly hit-and-run has been found. Police ask residents to review security footage for further information to assist in the investigation.
Owen Sound Police have located the vehicle believed to be involved in the fatal hit-and-run that occurred early Saturday morning on the city’s east side.
In a media release issued Tuesday, the Owen Sound Police Service (OSPS) confirmed that a 2018 white Honda Civic has been seized by the Criminal Investigations Branch. The car is now undergoing forensic examination.
This development comes after a young man was fatally struck near the intersection of 5th Street East and 5th Avenue East at approximately 3:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 10. The driver of the vehicle did not remain at the scene.
While identifying and locating the vehicle marks a significant step in the investigation, police continue to appeal to the public for assistance in identifying the driver and piecing together the events leading up to the collision.
Residents and business owners in the area are being asked to review any available surveillance footage, including dashcams and doorbell cameras, from the early hours of Saturday morning.
