Unsolicited Mail Advertising Illegal Drugs Reported in Owen Sound, Police Urge Caution
Residents in Owen Sound say they’ve received unsolicited flyers promoting illegal drugs for home delivery, with police urging the public to report incidents.
Owen Sound residents are reporting they’ve received flyers by mail this week that advertise illegal drugs available for home delivery across Canada.
Samantha Kennedy shared photos of the plain envelopes, each personally addressed to her husband or a friend, and mailed within Canada. Inside each one came a two-sided flyer offering cocaine, ketamine, MDMA, LSD, and other illegal drugs for purchase with home delivery.
The illicit retailer calling itself “Fcuk Reality” boasts of lab tasting its drug to ensure a safe supply, and states, “We believe Canadians deserve access to safe, high-quality drugs.”
Another section of the flyer claims, “No more worries about unsafe & bad product from your local dealer.”
Kennedy said she planned to take the package to the police, and that after sharing her photos on social media, several other residents contacted her to say they’d received a similar package.
Kennedy provided this photo of the flyer, noting she covered the link as she “didnt want people visiting the site unnecessarily.”
The company’s domain is Icelandic, though .is domains are open to users worldwide. They’re widely regarded as one of the more secure domain options.
Fcuk Reality also deals in crypto, and this isn’t the first time they’ve done direct mail outreach — though they appear to have changed their strategy to advertising only.
In 2024, a Gatineau QC publication called The Low Down reported that a recovering addict had received an unsolicited sample of cocaine from this organization in the mail.
And like Kennedy’s husband, that recipient told media they had received the package through Canada Post. It was addressed directly to the recipient.
“We have a locked mailbox, so it definitely came through the mail system,” Kennedy said.
At the time of that earlier reporting, the only way to access fcuk Reality’s encrypted site was through the QR code on the package.
The domain is now openly accessible online, and the person or people behind it boast openly about steps they’ve taken to work around email provider filters that prevented delivery of their order confirmations and shipping tracking updates.
“When we first started sending automated confirmation emails, we quickly ran into issues with major email providers like Google, Microsoft, and Yahoo blocking our messages. Since it’s crucial for you to receive your order confirmations and tracking updates, we came up with a better way to keep you informed,” the website states.
It goes on to explain that they created a membership panel with secure login customers to access all order details and direct communication with the support team.
The website contains many of the same features as legitimate e-commerce shops including FAQs, shopping cart integration, and even a ‘Refer-a-Friend’ program.
Owen Sound Police Service Craig Ambrose said while he hasn’t seen reports of the site locally, he is aware of online reviews for similar sites that say product is not as described.
“It’s very concerning, and I would stress the safety concerns of (buying drugs from) unknown sources, including quality control and the potential risks to life and health,” Ambrose responded by email.
To those who believe they have received either an illegal substance or information about purchasing one by mail, Ambrose said, “I would encourage them to report the matter to local police with as much information and detail as possible.”
Grey Bruce OPP echoed the advisory, with a spokesperson stating, “Anyone with information about the use of social media or other online platforms to advertise illegal drugs should report it to their police of jurisdiction, or Crime Stoppers to remain anonymous.”
