Two Owen Sound Residents Charged Following Break-In at Hwy 6 & 10 Business
Two Owen Sound residents face multiple charges following a break-in at a Meaford business. Grey Bruce OPP made arrests early Friday morning with assistance from the Canine Unit.
Two individuals from Owen Sound have been charged following a break and enter at a business in the Municipality of Meaford during the early hours of Friday morning.
At approximately 12:47 a.m. on June 6, 2025, Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officers responded to an alarm at a business located on Highway 6 & 10. With support from the OPP Canine Unit, police located and arrested two suspects at the scene without incident.
As a result of the investigation, Garrett Donovan-Coture, 35, of Owen Sound, has been charged with:
Obstruct Peace Officer
Failure to Comply with Release Order
Break and Enter
Possession of Break-In Instruments
Mischief Under $5,000
D’Angelo McWatch, 28, also of Owen Sound, faces the following charges:
Failure to Comply with Prohibition Order (two counts)
Break and Enter a Place
Mischief Under $5,000
Obstruct Peace Officer
Both accused are scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on July 10, 2025.
McWatch has previously been implicated in multiple criminal investigations. In October 2021, he was charged in Oshawa after being found in a stolen vehicle taken from Owen Sound, where he faced counts including possession of property obtained by crime and multiple probation violations.
A year earlier, in October 2020, McWatch was arrested in Wiarton and charged with unauthorized possession of a weapon, drug possession (including methamphetamine), possession of break-in instruments, and failure to comply with a release order. These charges stem from separate police investigations and do not reflect convictions.
