Two Kincardine Residents Charged After Early-Morning Police Raids in South Bruce
South Bruce OPP and regional units executed simultaneous search warrants October 15, leading to multiple charges and drug seizures.
Two Kincardine residents are facing charges after Ontario Provincial Police carried out a series of early-morning raids in Kincardine and Huron-Kinloss on October 15 as part of a drug trafficking investigation.
At around 5 a.m., the Grey-Bruce Community Street Crime Unit (CSCU) executed several simultaneous search warrants with support from regional CSCU teams in Wellington, Huron-Perth, Brant-Oxford, Middlesex, and Lambton. Tactical and emergency response units, along with the OPP Canine Unit and local crime units from South and Grey Bruce, also took part in the coordinated operation.
Police say the searches resulted in the seizure of several types of suspected drugs, including 46 grams of methamphetamine, 7 grams of cocaine, 22 grams of MDMA (Ecstasy), and 11 grams of psilocybin. Officers also recovered a small amount of cash and ammunition.
As a result of the investigation, 47-year-old David Rehkopf of Kincardine has been charged with five counts of possession of a Schedule I substance for the purpose of trafficking, three counts of possession of ammunition contrary to a prohibition order, and one count of failing to comply with an undertaking. He was held for a bail hearing and remains in custody.
Brailin Hays, 19, also from Kincardine, faces three counts of failing to comply with a release order. Hays was released following a bail hearing and is scheduled to appear in Walkerton court on October 31.
A third person was taken into custody on an unrelated Hanover Police Service warrant.
