Two Drivers Charged with Impaired in Separate Grey County Incidents
Grey Bruce OPP charged drivers in West Grey and Grey Highlands over the weekend with impaired driving and related offences.

Grey Bruce OPP have charged two men with impaired driving following separate incidents in West Grey and Grey Highlands.
The first incident happened on Friday, August 15, at about 5:21 p.m., when police received a traffic complaint about a possible impaired driver on Highway 6 in the Municipality of West Grey. Officers located the vehicle and its driver a short time later.
After further investigation, police charged 47-year-old Ryan Specht of West Grey with operating a vehicle while impaired by alcohol and operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit.
Police say his driver’s licence was suspended for 90 days and his vehicle impounded for seven days. Specht is scheduled to appear in court in Owen Sound on September 4.
The second incident occurred the following evening, on Saturday, August 16, at around 8:20 p.m. Police say officers were conducting general patrol duties on Highway 10 in the Municipality of Grey Highlands when they observed a vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. A traffic stop was initiated.
According to police, the driver showed signs of impairment and registered a fail on an Approved Screening Device. He was arrested and transported to the Markdale OPP detachment for further testing.
As a result, 33-year-old Kyle Wood of Grey Highlands was charged with operating a vehicle with a blood alcohol concentration over the legal limit, as well as offences under the Highway Traffic Act and Automobile Insurance Act, including driving without a valid permit, speeding and operating a motor vehicle without insurance.
Wood was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in Owen Sound court on September 4.
