Two Drivers Charged with Impaired Operation in Separate Brockton Incidents
South Bruce OPP have laid impaired driving charges against two individuals following separate incidents near Brockton on October 24 and 26, 2025. Both drivers are scheduled to appear in court.
The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged two individuals with impaired driving following unrelated incidents in the Municipality of Brockton in late October.
On October 24, 2025, at approximately 8:11 p.m., police responded to a single-vehicle collision along Highway 9. A pickup truck was located in a ditch. Officers administered a roadside screening test to the driver, which resulted in a fail. The individual was taken into custody and transported for further testing.
Michael Steele, 56, of Wilmot, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), under section 320.14(1)(b) of the Criminal Code. Steele is scheduled to appear at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on December 3, 2025.
Two days later, on October 26 at approximately 8:50 p.m., police responded to a report of a traffic hazard on Sideroad 30 North, south of Chesley.
A member of the public had reported a damaged vehicle stopped in a live lane with the driver slouched over behind the wheel. Officers attended the scene, observed signs of impairment, and took the driver into custody for further testing.
Dominic McGrail, 21, of Hanover, has been charged with operation while impaired – blood alcohol concentration (80 plus), under section 320.14(1)(b), and dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, under section 320.13(1) of the Criminal Code. McGrail is scheduled to appear at the Walkerton Ontario Court of Justice on December 10, 2025.
