Local pet parents went into a tailspin November 1st as the last remaining area clinics offering on-call after-hours emergency care gave notice it ends November 15.
Now, pets must be transported to Guelph, Barrie, or Toronto if an after-hours telemedicine consult determines they need urgent care before regular business hours.
Immediately, there was speculation about this being the result of corporate takeovers or a revenue-motivated move.
