Plus: Billy Bishop Airport gets some social love; COVID-19 outbreak at Rockwood Terrace
Here’s a fun bit of nationwide social media love for our region and its history.
The Royal Canadian Air Force Foundation featured the Owen Sound Airport and shared historic photos of Billy Bishop in its most recent #MappingMonday series on X, the social network formerly known as Twitter.
In one tweet (is that still what we call it? I cannot bring myself to call it an “X”), the organization writes,
“The Owen Sound Billy Bishop Regional Airport was built in 1991. It provides charter flight services, sightseeing, and pilot training. In November 2009, the Toronto City Centre Airport renamed itself after Billy Bishop, which continues to cause confusion with this airport.”
