There’s a BWDSB meeting tonight, and you may want to tune in.
Since we recently wrote about a sitting trustee showing off a ‘Straight Pride’ t-shirt in an open session, The Owen Sound Current has been reviewing meeting recordings from the past 18 months (the approximate length of the current term).
It seems this board could use a few more adults “in the room” (even if you can only attend online).
Our stories are developing. In the meantime, I feel it’s important to note:
BWDSB meetings include Student Trustees. These youth should be having a valuable learning experience about the processes of governance in a safe, welcoming, stable environment.
For some reason, not all BWDSB meetings are live-streamed or recorded. Tonight is the one per month that should be live-streamed on the board’s YouTube channel, so tune in at 7:00 p.m. The agenda lives here.
You can get to know the current trustees and find their contact information on the ‘Get To Know Your Trustee’ page on the BWDSB website.
If you have first-hand experience with the current roster of BWDSB trustees to share, you can reach me at owensoundcurrenteditor@gmail.com.
