Tues Jan 16: Council Votes Down Garbage Bag Tag Increase, Passes River District Budget
Plus: Owen Sound recognized as an 'underrated gem' on popular geography and travel site
Today’s cover photo has nothing whatsoever to do with current events. But isn’t it a beautiful reminder of what lies beneath?
This takes us all the way back to summer 2013 when the Tall Ships 1812 Tour, a commemoration of the bicentennial of the War of 1812, sailed into the Owen Sound Harbour.
It’ll be back one day… maybe not the tall ship (we can hope) but the greenery, for sure.
And now that we’re all cheerful and gooey with nostalgia, I have to apologize because this next part’s not nearly as pretty.
We do need to talk about what happened last night.
And that’s all I have to say about that.
Council also reversed its bag tag rate increase, so tags will remain $2.50 for now.
And in decidedly more fun news, WorldAtlas called out Owen Sound as an underrated gem this week. Read on to learn more and browse upcoming events.
