Traffic Charge Withdrawn in Owen Sound Hit-and-Run Case from June 2025
The only Highway Traffic Act charge in a 2025 Owen Sound hit-and-run case has been withdrawn. The accused will appear in Superior Court on February 4 to face remaining criminal charges.
Christopher Little, the man accused in a 2025 hit-and-run that left a pedestrian seriously injured, had his only provincial traffic offence withdrawn in court today.
A charge of driving a motor vehicle without a licence, contrary to Section 32(1) of the Highway Traffic Act, was formally withdrawn at a January 29 hearing in Owen Sound. It was the only provincial offence laid in the case, and the sole charge under the Highway Traffic Act.
Owen Sound Current confirmed today with the Superior Court of Justice in Owen Sound that Little, 42, continues to face criminal charges of:
Dangerous operation causing bodily harm
Failing to stop at an accident resulting in bodily harm
Failure to comply with demand - bodily harm
Trafficking a Schedule I substance – cocaine
Common nuisance - endangering life
None of the allegations have been proven in court. On January 27, 2026, Little was committed to stand trial and elected to be tried by judge alone. He is scheduled to make his first appearance in Superior Court on February 4, 2026.
The charges relate to an incident on June 29, 2025, near the intersection of 1st Avenue West and 11th Street West in Owen Sound. A pedestrian was struck in what police described as a fail-to-remain collision, and was airlifted to a London hospital with serious injuries.
Owen Sound Police Service announced the next day they had located the suspect vehicle and arrested the driver shortly after the incident.
Little was released on $5,000 bail on July 9, 2025, under conditions that included prohibitions on driving, possessing weapons, and contacting six named individuals.
Little listed himself publicly online as an Investment Advisor and Portfolio Manager with RBC Dominion Securities until recently. A spokesperson for RBC Wealth Management Canada confirmed to Owen Sound Current that his employment with the firm ended on July 29, 2025.
