Today’s letter to the editor is an invitation to take part in a new book project about the ties between people and the places we live.
Organizer Joan Beecroft is seeking stories that explore how land, geography, and community shape identity — whether through deep family roots, a lifetime in one town, or the fresh perspective of newcomers.
Beecroft is no stranger to community anthologies. Her previous edited collections include Things That Used To Matter; Growing up Gay in Bruce and Grey: Reflections by Current and Former Residents*; 20/20 Hindsight: Being Gay in Bruce and Grey*; Aging in Place: Exploring Options in Grey-Bruce; and A Place to Belong: Stories from Newcomers to Grey and Bruce — all published by the Ginger Press.
