Grey Bruce OPP shared an alarming report on the number of excessive speeders on local roads in January.

The worst offenders were caught driving 158 km/h in an 80 km/h zone on Highway in North Bruce Peninsula, and 117 km/h in a 50 km/h zone on Grey Road 17B in Georgian Bluffs.

Ten drivers were charged with stunt driving, had their vehicles impounded for 14 days, and lost their driver's licenses for 30 days.

Listen, every time we see news articles about excessive speed on local highways posted to social media, there’s a chorus of complaints about visitors from the city.

Yes, there’s some of that. Six of these most recent offenders were from Brampton, Scarborough, and Burlington.

However, two were from Saugeen Shores, another from Owen Sound, and one from West Grey.

The local offenders ranged in age from 21 to 59 years of age.

Play stupid games; win stupid prizes. Be safe out there, folks.
