Congratulations to Joanna Bottrell and her team at Heartwood Home on their 10th Anniversary in business downtown!

Located at 939 2nd Ave E, Heartwood Home is an ever-evolving showcase of repurposed, upcycled, and refashioned furniture and home decor.

Over the past decade, Joanna and her business partner Greg have grown Heartwood to include a cafe in the Heartwood Home space, a fantastic concert venue (Heartwood Hall) upstairs, and a trendy restaurant (Parkwood) in the back.

In a post on the Heartwood Home Facebook Page, Joanna wrote:

“It's a cliché to say time flies, but it's ten years in and here we are! As I peruse photos from days gone by, I celebrate how many antique and vintage pieces of furniture and housewares have made their way through the store: couches, chairs, kitchenware, gilt-framed mirrors, boudoir lamps, carvings and curiosities. Locally made things too.

We've fed people's plant cravings. We've pulled countless espresso shots and steamed gallons of milk. We've sold thousands of concert tickets as the box office for Heartwood Hall and helped new customers find their way to the fledgling Parkwood by Heartwood Restaurant. We've watched kids grow and the seasons change and the streetscape evolve. And we've made cherished connections with countless people.

Thank you to all our loyal customers and consignors for your support over the years. Thanks also to my fabulous team of sales people, present and past, for helping me to make it happen.”

Thank you, Heartwood, for creating beautiful things, experiences, and memories for Owen Sounders. We wish you continued success for many more years to come.
