Three Men Arrested After Eastside Grocery Store Theft
Owen Sound Police found men from Brampton and Caledon in possession of large quantity of stolen butter and ghee
Three men are facing Theft Under $5,000 and possession of stolen property charges after an off-duty loss prevention officer recognized them from a theft at another store.
On Sunday, February 23, the men were spotted by the officer stealing several containers of ghee from an east side grocery store. After his shift, the now off-duty officer spotted the men in another retail store and phoned OSPS.
Police found the men in their vehicle, alongside $1,300 in stolen butter and ghee.
Two men from Brampton, aged 24 and 21, and a 21-year-old man from Caledon, face two charges each of Theft Under $5000.00 and Possession of Property Obtained by Crime.
The men are scheduled to make a court appearance in Owen Sound in March.
