Terry Fox National Ride of Hope to Pass Through Grey & Bruce on June 28
The Terry Fox National Ride of Hope, marking the 45th anniversary of the Marathon of Hope, will pass through Grey and Bruce counties on June 28. Drivers are urged to use caution.

The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) is advising motorists to be mindful of the Terry Fox National Ride of Hope, which will travel through the region on Saturday, June 28, 2025.
The ride marks the 45th anniversary of Terry Fox’s Marathon of Hope and aims to raise awareness and funds for cancer research.
The cross-country cycling event includes a core group of riders, among them Darrell Fox, Terry’s brother, who is continuing the legacy of the iconic 1980 run.
The group is being escorted by OPP motorcycle units and cruisers to ensure public and rider safety throughout the journey.
Route Through Grey Bruce:
Riders will enter the region via Tobermory.
They will travel south on Highway 6 through Georgian Bluffs.
The route continues east on Highway 26, passing through Owen Sound and into Meaford.
The Grey Bruce OPP noted a local connection to the ride: Constable Belanger, a long-time resident of the Bruce Peninsula, will be participating in the event.
Driver Safety Reminders:
Slow down and be prepared to stop when approaching cyclists and escort vehicles.
Do not pass the group unless directed by police.
Leave extra space between your vehicle and the cyclists.
Stay alert and avoid distractions such as mobile devices.
Expect brief delays and plan travel accordingly.
The OPP thanks the public for their cooperation in ensuring a safe environment for all participants. More information on the event can be found at the Terry Fox Foundation’s Ride of Hope page.
