Surveillance Footage Leads to Arrest in Grey Highlands Barn Break-In
A 68-year-old faces three charges after police say items were taken from a barn on Wellington Street. The allegations have not been tested in court.
A Grey Highlands man faces three charges after a reported break-in at a barn on Wellington Street.
Grey Bruce OPP say they were called at about 5:59 p.m. on August 12 to a report of a break and enter that had happened earlier that day. Police say someone entered a barn on the property without permission and removed three large wooden slabs, loading them into a dark-coloured pickup truck. Investigators say surveillance footage from the property captured the entry and the removal.
Officers located the vehicle on Wellington Street and made an arrest, according to police.
The man has been charged with break and enter, theft under $5,000 and failure to comply with a probation order. He was released from custody and is scheduled to appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Owen Sound on September 3.
None of the allegations has been tested in court.
