Owen Sound City Council meets Monday, April 15, with open session beginning at 5:30pm in council chambers.

You can view the meeting via Rogers TV or on the City’s Council and Committees webpage.

Ahead of the last meeting on March 25, we asked you:

  • 32% watch occasionally to annually

  • Just 7% watch every meeting

Of course, we elect a council of representatives so we don’t have to attend every meeting. Ongoing public engagement and consultation are essential in ensuring councillors keep the pulse of their community and how various people are impacted by each issue.

Now, here’s a look at what’s coming up at Monday’s meeting.

Highlights:

  • The Grey Sauble Conservation Authority Board of Directors has approved the organization’s strategic goals for 2025-2035, and approved the schematic design of the Administration Centre renovation and foyer/vestibule addition.

  • City Staff recommend minor updates to the River District (former DIA) agreement with the City of Owen Sound, keeping the $120,000 annual parking payment from downtown business and property owners to the City intact.

  • Rashell Feldman of The Southern Georgian Bay Jewish Community will deliver a deputation on the Official Definition of Antisemitism.

  • Corporate Services staff recommend that Council approve the award of a $736,014.82 tender for highway salt as the City’s contribution to a County plan.

  • Five new business licenses up for final approval.

  • Minutes and recommendations from the Community Services and Operations Committees.
