Police Executing Search Warrant in Walkerton Discover Drug Lab
On September 9, 2024, at 6:19 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report of an assault involving a firearm.
On September 11, 2024, the South Bruce OPP Major Crimes Unit, assisted by the West Region Tactics and Rescue Unit (WR TRU) and the West Region Emergency Response Team (WR ERT), executed a search warrant at a residence in Walkerton.
A 51-year-old resident of Walkerton was arrested without incident and held in custody for a bail hearing.
During the execution of the search warrant, a suspected clandestine drug laboratory was discovered within the residence. OPP specialty units, including the West Region Community Street Crimes Unit (CSCU), USAR CBRNE Response Team (UCRT), Clandestine Laboratory Investigative Response Team (CLIRT), along with assistance from the Walkerton Fire Department, Bruce County Paramedic Services, and Health Canada are in the process of a safe dismantling of the lab.

Major Crimes Unit Seeks Information About Altercation in Camping Area
The South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Major Crimes Unit seeks public assistance with an ongoing criminal investigation in Walkerton.
An altercation is believed to have taken place in a camping area off of Hannah Street in Walkerton in the early hours of August 16, 2024.
Police are looking to identify a male who was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and shorts on that date.
Additional details will not be provided at this time due to privacy concerns of those involved.
Impaired Driving Charges in Lucknow & Kincardine
September 10, 2024, at approximately 11:08 p.m., a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol checked on a vehicle along Stauffer Street in Lucknow.
The driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. A roadside-approved screening device (ASD) test was conducted, which resulted in a failure. They were arrested and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.
Matthew Boyle, 35 years old, from the Municipality of Kincardine, was charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
On September 11, 2024, at 6:24 p.m., the South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a report for a possible impaired driver along Queen Street in Kincardine.
The vehicle was located by officers, and the driver was found to have been drinking alcohol. They were arrested and taken to a Qualified Breath Technician for breath tests.
Cory HEDGER, 41 years old, from the Municipality of Kincardine, was charged with operation while impaired - blood alcohol concentration (80 plus).
