In August, the staff and residents of Seasons Owen Sound Retirement Community transformed their courtyard into a lively hub of cheers, laughter, and splashes of water during their third annual fundraiser and silent auction in support of Second Chance Animal Sanctuary.
The dunk tank stole the show with supportive team members, taking turns on the hot seat. For just $5, each participant got three throws, and if young children missed the mark, they could still run up and push the button to dunk the team members!
Thanks to the generosity of residents, their families, and the local community, the event raised an impressive $2828.00. A silent auction, featuring items donated by local businesses, added to the excitement.
“We are so proud to be celebrating our third annual fundraiser for this outstanding community organization,” shares Polly Kirstine, General Manager at Seasons Owen Sound.
“This fundraiser highlights our commitment to making Seasons a welcoming residence for both our residents and their pets. It’s always a joy to see our cherished pets and companion animals at Seasons.”
Second Chance Animal Sanctuary is especially meaningful to Seasons Owen Sound. The organization helps not only dogs and cats but also farm animals like cows, ducks, goats, pigs, and sheep.
This impactful event was held in honour of International Homeless Animals Day on August 16, further underlining the community’s compassion for and dedication to animals.
