École secondaire catholique Saint-Dominique-Savio art department would like to recognize the achievements of four of our students who recently participated in the painting of a rather large mural located in our gymnasium. We invite you to the unveiling of this much-anticipated mural.
We are very excited to announce this successful collaborative effort with our students in our emerging Art department. The goal was to produce a mural that not only signifies our wolf mascot but to take inspiration from the beautiful surroundings of Grey Bruce County.
We also want to inspire students and athletes with a wolfpack scene. The wolfpack symbolizes loyalty, teamwork, challenging environments to overcome and a respect for elders.
The students who participated are: Ange Kingue Nkongo, Arisabet O’Brien, Chloe Hicks and Mariah Adamson. This unique project is set to combine the students’ artistic abilities as well as Mme Éloïse Guindon’s artistic experience (art teacher).
We have a small school that is surprisingly diverse with French-speaking students and staff from Ontario, Québec and Cameroon. This mural is a great way to once again demonstrate that Franco-Ontarian contribution.
This mural, like our previous mural, draws inspiration from the noted artist Tom Thompson and the Group of Seven.
