Richard-Yves Sitoski Named to CBC Books’ Fall 2025 Poetry List
Poet Richard-Yves Sitoski launches A Current Through the Flesh in Owen Sound on Oct. 2; CBC Books names it a top fall 2025 poetry release.

Owen Sound poet, songwriter, and playwright Richard-Yves Sitoski has been recognized nationally with the inclusion of his forthcoming book A Current Through the Flesh on CBC Books’ list of 34 works of Canadian poetry coming out in fall 2025.
Published by Ronsdale Press, A Current Through the Flesh delves into intergenerational trauma, exploring the fragility of masculine self-image, the dangers of passivity, and the often-overlooked power of women who have endured toxic beliefs.
According to the publisher, the collection “weaves family history into an abrasive cloth, tailored into the full regalia of everyday life.”
Sitoski, who served as Owen Sound’s Poet Laureate from 2019 to 2022, has built a diverse career as a poet, musician, playwright, performance artist, and visual artist.
His previous collections include Wait, What?, How to Be Human, and Butterfly Tongue—the latter of which was adapted into a one-person musical theatre piece performed to sold-out audiences. His first poetry collection, brownfields, has recently been reissued by The Ginger Press in an expanded 10th anniversary edition.
Local readers will have the opportunity to celebrate the new release in person at a launch event on Thursday, October 2, at 7:00 p.m. at The Rumpus Room in downtown Owen Sound.
Hosted by The Ginger Press, the evening will feature readings from the book as well as a conversation between Sitoski and local poetry enthusiast Catherine Huntley.
Tickets ($25) include a signed copy of A Current Through the Flesh and are available in-store at The Ginger Press (10 a.m.–2 p.m., Tuesday through Saturday) or online at www.gingerpress.com.
With his latest work gaining national attention, Sitoski continues to bring Owen Sound’s vibrant literary community into the spotlight.
