Resistance Tour With Charlie Angus Stops at Harmony Centre September 13
Former MP and activist Charlie Angus will speak and perform in Owen Sound as part of his Resistance Tour, with tickets available online and at the door.

Charlie Angus, former MP, activist, musician, and author, is bringing his cross-country “Resistance Tour” to Owen Sound on Saturday, September 13. The event will be held at the Harmony Centre, with doors opening at 6:30 p.m. and the program beginning at 7 p.m.
The evening will feature opening remarks from Michael McLuhan, with additional presentations from Trish Meekins, Chris Neudorf, and Liz Zetlin. Angus will deliver a keynote address followed by a question-and-answer session and book signing. The event is expected to wrap up around 9 p.m.
Angus represented a large Northern Ontario riding in Parliament for more than two decades before stepping away from federal politics.
The Resistance Tour, also called the “Elbows Up” tour, blends his background as a punk and folk-rock musician with his longstanding activism. Events combine music, storytelling, and political insight while encouraging community engagement.
The tour highlights themes of democracy, social justice, Indigenous rights, and grassroots action. Angus has positioned it as a pushback against authoritarianism, disinformation, and growing inequality in Canada, while also warning of the influence of Donald Trump’s movement and the spread of “Maple MAGA” politics domestically.
Stops across the country have included Peterborough, Port Elgin, and Charlottetown. Proceeds from some events have supported local causes such as youth shelters and hunger relief.
The Owen Sound event is ticketed at $10, with a pay-what-you-can option available at the door. Organizers say a limited number of tickets will be held aside for PWYC attendees.
