Public Meetings This Week on Water & Wastewater Planning in Northern Bruce Peninsula
Public meetings in Tobermory and Lion’s Head on Aug. 27 will outline long-term plans for municipal water and wastewater services in Northern Bruce Peninsula.

The Municipality of Northern Bruce Peninsula is beginning long-term planning for water and wastewater services in its two largest communities, and kicking things off with two public meetings this week.
Separate Master Plan studies for Tobermory and Lion’s Head will guide how the municipality expands drinking water and wastewater infrastructure in the years ahead, based on existing conditions, projected population growth, and the risks posed by climate change.
The municipality says the studies will recommend projects, set out implementation schedules, and provide a framework for phasing future capital work.
Public information sessions August 27
To introduce the process, the municipality is hosting Public Information Centres (PICs) this week in both communities.
Officials say the sessions will provide an overview of the Master Plan studies and the Municipal Class Environmental Assessment process, along with background on existing infrastructure, identified challenges, and proposed solutions for both water and wastewater systems.
The sessions are scheduled for Wednesday, August 27, 2025:
Tobermory Community Centre — 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
Lion’s Head Rotary Hall — 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.
For those unable to attend in person, the municipality says presentation boards will be posted at letstalknbp.ca during the public question and comment period, which runs until Friday, September 26, 2025, at 4:30 p.m.
