Wild Weather is a hands-on, high-energy exhibition that brings the awe-inspiring power of severe weather to life for visitors. On until September 5 at Grey Roots Museum & Archives, this immersive museum experience invites curious minds of all ages to explore the science behind Earth’s most extreme conditions.
From roaring hurricanes to crackling lightning, Wild Weather blends interactive play with real-world weather and climate science.
Experience Severe Weather — Without Getting Wet!
Travel through a series of engaging exhibit zones designed to spark curiosity and excitement:
Research hurricanes from the outer edges right to the eye of the storm;
Witness the destructive force of tornadoes, one of nature’s most unpredictable phenomena;
Track turbulent cloud formations and lightning strikes in the thunderstorm zone;
Become a citizen scientist during a raging winter storm;
Meet a researcher in the lab studying the power of wind and extreme weather;
Get “blown away” in a staged hurricane photo opportunity.
Be sure to explore Local Stories: Changing Weather as well! This new exhibit highlights how individuals and communities in Grey County are responding to changing weather patterns. Developed by the Georgian Bluffs Climate Action Team, Local Stories: Changing Weather also includes four panels exploring wild weather themes from a local perspective, displayed throughout the Wild Weather exhibit.
Located at 102599 Grey Road 18 near Owen Sound, Grey Roots Museum & Archives is open Monday to Saturday from 10:00 to 4:00 and Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00.
