Police Searching for Man Who Fled Burning Vehicle Scene in Stolen Truck
South Bruce OPP are asking for the public’s assistance identifying and locating a man who stole a truck from scene of collision in Arran-Elderslie.
South Bruce OPP are searching for a Black 2002 GMC Sierra stolen on Sunday night from the B line south of Highway 21 in Arran-Elderslie.
Police say they received a report of a burning vehicle at that location around 7:47 p.m. on September 14. At the scene, they discovered a blue pick up truck that had been in a collision engulfed in flames.
A nearby residence had stopped to help, only to have their truck — the GMC now sought by police — stolen by the lone occupant of the burned out pickup.
Police report that the stolen truck was last seen travelling northbound at a high rate of speed. They describe the suspect only as a shirtless male with possible burn wounds.
Police are now searching for the Black 2002 GMC Sierra with a bright silver hood, tonneau cover, and Ontario license plate CA25996.
