Police Locate SUV from Hit-and-Run Collision, Charges Expected
Owen Sound Police have located the white SUV involved in Friday night’s hit-and-run collision at 2nd Avenue East and 6th Street East and expect to lay criminal charges.
Owen Sound Police announced Monday they had made significant progress in their investigation into a hit-and-run collision that occurred Friday night at the intersection of 2nd Avenue East and 6th Street East. The white SUV involved in the incident has been located, and police anticipate criminal charges will be laid.
The collision occurred on November 22, 2024, at approximately 11:40 p.m. A white SUV travelling southbound on 2nd Avenue East attempted to make a left turn onto 6th Street East, colliding with a northbound vehicle.

The driver of the SUV fled the scene, leaving the other driver, a 75-year-old woman, with minor injuries. She was treated and released after the airbags in her vehicle deployed due to the impact.
Following an appeal to the public for assistance, police received valuable tips and witness accounts that helped them identify and locate the SUV.
“We are grateful to the community for their cooperation and assistance,” said a statement from the Owen Sound Police. “The tips provided were crucial to the investigation.”
While the investigation is ongoing, police have confirmed that charges are expected to be laid against the SUV driver.
