Police Investigating Daylight Boat Theft in Meaford
A 20-foot Smoker Craft boat and trailer were stolen from a Meaford property in broad daylight; OPP seek tips on two male suspects and involved vehicles.
The Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are investigating the theft of a boat taken in broad daylight from a property near Grey Road 12 in Meaford on Thursday afternoon.
According to police, the incident occurred at approximately 2:11 p.m. on July 24. Surveillance footage captured two vehicles — a white Buick Enclave and a blue Ford F250 — entering the property and removing a 20-foot Smoker Craft Phantom boat.
The boat, which was on a steel tandem trailer, is equipped with a 175-horsepower Suzuki outboard motor.
Two male suspects were observed in the footage. One is described as a heavier-set Caucasian man, while the other is a Caucasian man of average build. Both were wearing either red or pink shirts along with tan or beige pants.
A white dog was also seen inside the blue Ford F250.

The investigation remains active. Police are asking anyone with information or who may have seen anything suspicious in the area to contact Grey Bruce OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
