Palmerston Man Charged with Impaired Driving After Incident in Southampton
Saugeen Shores Police have charged a 33-year-old Palmerston man with impaired driving, dangerous operation, and resisting arrest after an incident near Southampton’s harbour.
Saugeen Shores Police Service has charged a Palmerston man with multiple offences following a suspected impaired driving incident in Southampton on Sunday evening.
On August 10, 2025, at approximately 7:41 p.m., police received a report of a vehicle being driven erratically near Market Street and Harbour Street.
Witnesses reported the vehicle had struck a curb, blown a tire, and was operating in an area where several adults and children were walking, biking, and driving.
Officers located the suspect vehicle a short time later in the Southampton Marina parking lot. Police say the driver was showing several signs of impairment and was arrested at the scene.
According to police, the 33-year-old man actively resisted officers’ attempts to place him in the rear of the police vehicle. He was eventually taken into custody without injury.

Police did not release the man’s name. He was released with a future court date, had his driver’s licence suspended, and his vehicle was impounded.
